UB12 vs. UB15
Whenever the layout allows, we generally recommend moving up to a 15-Inch Unfinished Shaker Base Cabinet (UB15). Those additional three inches create noticeably more usable storage and provide greater flexibility for organizing the cabinet.
The UB15 can also accommodate many aftermarket single trash pullout systems. While American Made Cabinets does not sell cabinet accessories, compatible pullout systems are widely available from third-party manufacturers.

Soft-close concealed hinges and full-extension soft-close drawer glides provide smooth, quiet operation. The unfinished maple exterior is ready for paint, stain, or clear coat, while the cabinet interior already includes a clear natural protective finish.

Finishing Your Unfinished Maple Cabinet
The unfinished maple exterior can be painted, stained, or clear coated to coordinate with your project. Because maple can absorb stain unevenly, proper preparation is important before staining.

Assembly
The cabinet ships Ready-to-Assemble and uses our pocket screw construction system for fast, accurate assembly. Pocket screw construction creates a strong cabinet while simplifying installation for both homeowners and professional installers. The door arrives pre-hung, and detailed assembly instructions are included.
Professional Recommendation
We most often recommend the UB12 beside a sink when one small utensil drawer is enough and cabinet storage below is more valuable than additional drawers. It provides an economical combination of drawer and cabinet storage without giving up valuable space for taller items.
If your layout allows an additional three inches, we generally recommend stepping up to the UB15 Base Cabinet. The larger cabinet offers noticeably more storage, greater organization, and the option to add many aftermarket single trash pullout systems in the future.
