If your layout has room for the 27-Inch Unfinished Shaker Wall Cabinet, we generally recommend moving up in size. The wider cabinet provides even greater usable storage while maintaining the same height.
Our Wall Cabinet Design Philosophy
One of the most common kitchen design mistakes is making every wall cabinet match the width of the base cabinet below it. Although that aligns cabinet joints vertically, it often reduces storage capacity and creates a busier-looking kitchen.
Our preference is to use the largest equal-width wall cabinets that comfortably fit the available space. For example, on a 90-inch wall we would typically recommend three 30-inch wall cabinets rather than several different cabinet widths. This approach maximizes storage while maintaining the balanced, symmetrical appearance found in professionally designed kitchens.
Ready for Glass at No Additional Charge
The UW2430 can be ordered Ready for Glass at no additional charge. Instead of the standard recessed maple plywood center panels, the doors are prepared to accept customer-supplied glass, allowing you to create a custom display cabinet for glassware, decorative dishes, or collectibles.
Glass is not included. We recommend using tempered safety glass for all glass door applications and verifying the required glass dimensions after receiving the prepared doors.

Full Access Behind the Double Doors

Unlike many mass-produced cabinets, we build our cabinets using premium solid hardwood and durable plywood construction—never MDF, particleboard, or other engineered wood products—for long-term strength, durability, and dependable everyday performance.
Soft-close concealed hinges provide smooth, quiet operation. Two adjustable shelves allow the storage space to be arranged around the items you use most often. The unfinished maple exterior is ready for paint, stain, or clear coat, while the cabinet interior already includes a clear natural protective finish.

Finishing Your Unfinished Maple Wall Cabinet
The unfinished maple exterior can be painted, stained, or clear coated to coordinate with your kitchen. Maple can absorb stain unevenly, so proper preparation with a quality wood conditioner or sanding sealer is recommended before staining.
