24-Inch Unfinished Shaker Pantry Cabinet
The UPC2484 is a 24-inch-wide, 84-inch-tall Unfinished Shaker Pantry Cabinet designed for substantial food, appliance, and household storage. Compared with a narrower pantry, its wider interior provides more room to organize products side by side and accommodate larger items.
Two upper doors and two lower doors divide the cabinet into convenient storage sections. Neither opening has a center stile, giving you uninterrupted access across the full interior width when both doors are open.
Why Choose a 24-Inch Pantry?
Choose the UPC2484 when the kitchen has room for a wider tall cabinet and you want one primary location for pantry storage.
The 24-inch width works well for:
- Bulk groceries and larger food containers
- Small countertop appliances
- Baking supplies and mixing bowls
- Serving pieces and occasional-use cookware
- Paper products and household supplies
The wider interior makes it easier to create visible storage zones instead of placing several items behind one another. This can make pantry contents easier to find and reduce forgotten food at the back of the cabinet.
Four Doors with No Center Stile
The UPC2484 has two doors in the upper section and two doors in the lower section. There is no center stile between either pair of doors.
When both doors are open, each section provides one wide, unobstructed opening. This makes it easier to move mixing bowls, appliances, bulk packages, and other wide items in and out of the cabinet.
The separate upper and lower sections also help organize the pantry by weight and frequency of use:
-
Upper section: Lighter products, paper goods, serving pieces, and seasonal items
-
Eye-level area: Everyday food, snacks, dry ingredients, and baking supplies
-
Lower section: Canned goods, beverages, bulk products, and small appliances
Keeping heavier items lower reduces unnecessary lifting, while placing everyday products near eye level makes the pantry easier to use.
Five Adjustable Shelves
Five adjustable shelves allow you to arrange the interior around the products your household actually stores.
Shelf spacing can be changed to accommodate:
- Tall bottles and containers
- Boxed and canned food
- Short jars and snack containers
- Bulk packages
- Cookware and mixing bowls
- Small kitchen appliances
Adjustable shelving also allows the pantry to change over time. A section used for groceries today can later be reorganized for appliances, serving pieces, or household supplies.
Planning for an 84-Inch-Tall Cabinet
An 84-inch pantry can work well in kitchens with lower ceilings, soffits, or layouts where a 90- or 96-inch cabinet would not provide enough installation clearance.
Before ordering, verify:
- Finished ceiling height
- Available wall width
- Clearance required to raise the assembled cabinet
- Nearby refrigerator or appliance-door clearance
- Required fillers beside walls or appliances
- Walkway and pantry-door clearance
- Locations of outlets, switches, vents, and trim
Remember that enough space is needed not only for the cabinet's installed height but also to assemble, raise, position, level, and secure it.

Finishing the Unfinished Maple Exterior
The unfinished maple exterior can be painted, stained, or clear coated to coordinate with your kitchen.
Maple can absorb stain unevenly, so test the complete finishing system on a sample or inconspicuous area before finishing the entire cabinet. A compatible wood conditioner or sanding sealer may help produce a more consistent stained appearance.
Review our Cabinet Finishing Guide for Unfinished Maple Cabinets before beginning.
The cabinet interior already has a clear natural protective finish and should not be painted or stained.
Assembly and Installation
The UPC2484 ships Ready-to-Assemble using our pocket screw construction system. Complete assembly instructions are included.
Assemble the cabinet on a clean, protected surface and verify that the room provides enough clearance to raise it upright. Once positioned, confirm that the cabinet is plumb and level before securing it to suitable wall framing and adjoining cabinetry.

Professional Recommendation
Choose the UPC2484 when the kitchen has room for a wider pantry and you want accessible storage for groceries, appliances, and bulk household items.
We often place a pantry beside the refrigerator because it keeps food storage concentrated in one area. It can also create a more complete built-in appearance around the appliance. Before using this arrangement, confirm the refrigerator manufacturer's ventilation requirements, door swing, handle clearance, and any filler needed between the pantry and appliance.
Compared with an 18-inch pantry, the UPC2484 uses six additional inches of wall space. That extra width is worthwhile when it improves access and reduces overcrowding, but it should not come at the expense of an important drawer base, appliance clearance, or countertop work area.
