Unfinished Shaker Wall Bridge Cabinets turn unused wall space above refrigerators, microwaves, range hoods, desks, coffee stations, and other openings into practical storage while creating the appearance of custom built-in cabinetry.

Every American Made Cabinets unfinished wall bridge cabinet is proudly made in Louisiana using solid maple face frames, solid maple Shaker door frames, maple plywood recessed center panels, and durable birch plywood cabinet boxes.

We never use particleboard, MDF, HDF, or other engineered wood products in our cabinet construction. Every bridge cabinet includes finished ends, adjustable shelving, pre-hung doors, soft-close concealed hinges, pocket-hole Ready-to-Assemble construction, and a 20-year warranty.

Where Are Bridge Cabinets Used?

Bridge cabinets are designed to span the space between two taller cabinets where a standard wall cabinet would not fit properly.

Common applications include:

Plan the Appliance Before the Bridge Cabinet

One of the most common planning mistakes is selecting the bridge cabinet before selecting the appliance.

When installing a bridge cabinet above a refrigerator or microwave, choose the appliance first. The appliance dimensions, ventilation requirements, door swing, and manufacturer's installation instructions determine the opening size and the bridge cabinet that fits above it.

After the appliance opening is established, the surrounding wall cabinets can be sized to create a balanced cabinet layout.

Create a Balanced Upper Cabinet Layout

Bridge cabinets should be planned as part of the complete upper cabinet run rather than added after the layout is finished. Their width affects the surrounding cabinets, fillers, appliance clearances, and the overall symmetry of the kitchen.

Planning the bridge cabinet early almost always produces a cleaner, more balanced design than trying to fit one into an existing layout.

Ready for Glass Door Options

Selected wall bridge cabinets are available with Ready for Glass doors.

Instead of a recessed maple plywood center panel, the center of the door is left open and the back of the solid maple door frame is factory-notched for glass installation.

American Made Cabinets does not supply the glass. We recommend using tempered safety glass so you can choose the glass style that best complements your kitchen.

Finish Before Assembly

The maple doors, face frames, and exposed cabinet surfaces arrive unfinished and can be painted, stained, or protected with a clear finish. The birch plywood cabinet interior already has a clear protective finish and should not be painted or stained.
