Gray 30" Wall Cabinets
Lite Gray 30-Inch-Tall Shaker Wall Cabinets
Lite Gray 30-Inch-Tall Shaker Wall Cabinets provide practical upper storage where a taller wall cabinet may not fit comfortably or may be unnecessary. They are commonly used in laundry rooms, utility rooms, garages, bathrooms, kitchens with lower ceilings, and above toilets as headknockers.
Every American Made Cabinets Lite Gray 30-Inch-Tall Shaker Wall Cabinet is proudly made in Louisiana using solid poplar face frames, solid poplar Shaker door frames, birch plywood recessed center panels, and durable birch plywood cabinet boxes.
We never use particleboard, MDF, HDF, or other engineered wood products in our cabinet construction. Each cabinet includes finished ends, adjustable shelving, pre-hung doors, soft-close concealed hinges, pocket-hole Ready-to-Assemble construction, a factory-applied Sherwin-Williams Lite Gray finish, and a 20-year warranty.
When Should You Choose a 30-Inch Wall Cabinet?
A 30-inch-tall wall cabinet is a practical choice when the room, ceiling height, or installation location does not require a taller cabinet.
Common applications include:
- Headknockers installed above toilets
- Laundry rooms
- Utility rooms
- Garages and workshops
- Rooms with ceilings under 90 inches tall
- Locations where additional clearance is needed below the cabinet
- Projects where a shorter upper cabinet better fits the surrounding architecture
Choose the cabinet height according to the room and layout rather than assuming every project should use the same upper-cabinet height.
30-Inch Wall Cabinets Above Toilets
In the cabinet industry, a wall cabinet installed above a toilet is commonly called a headknocker. A 30-inch cabinet provides useful storage for towels, toiletries, cleaning supplies, and other bathroom items without extending as far down the wall as a taller cabinet.
Before selecting the cabinet width, verify the toilet location, wall width, nearby trim, ceiling height, and access needed around the fixture.
30-Inch Wall Cabinets for Laundry and Utility Rooms
Thirty-inch wall cabinets work well above washers, dryers, utility sinks, work surfaces, and storage areas where a taller cabinet may interfere with appliance lids, plumbing, ventilation, or comfortable access.
Measure the appliances and all required clearances before choosing cabinet widths. Also account for water connections, dryer vents, shutoff valves, electrical outlets, utility-sink faucets, and any appliance doors or lids that must open beneath the cabinets.
For help arranging cabinet widths and planning around appliances, review our Cabinet Layout and Design Guide.
Should You Choose 30-Inch or 42-Inch Wall Cabinets?
Thirty-inch cabinets are best when the ceiling is lower, the room is primarily functional, or the installation requires additional clearance. They are also commonly used in garages, laundry rooms, utility spaces, and bathrooms.
When ceiling height and the layout allow, Lite Gray 42-Inch-Tall Wall Cabinets provide more vertical storage and are generally our preferred choice for standard kitchens.
When installed at the standard wall-cabinet height, the top of a 42-inch cabinet reaches 96 inches. This makes it especially useful in kitchens with standard 8-foot ceilings. A 30-inch cabinet installed at the same height leaves more open wall space above it.

Design the Complete Wall Before Choosing Widths
Do not choose each 30-inch wall cabinet only according to the base cabinet below it. Upper cabinets usually look cleaner when they are designed around the complete wall rather than matched to every lower-cabinet division.
Whenever the layout allows, use fewer, wider cabinets to reduce visible door gaps and create better balance around windows, appliances, sinks, and other fixed elements.
Begin by identifying the corners, door and window trim, appliances, plumbing, ventilation, and required fillers. Then divide the remaining space into the largest practical balanced cabinet widths.
Ready for Glass Door Options
Selected 30-inch wall cabinets are available with Ready for Glass doors.
Instead of a recessed birch plywood center panel, the center of the door is left open and the back of the solid hardwood door frame is factory-notched for glass installation.
American Made Cabinets does not supply the glass. We recommend using tempered safety glass, allowing you to choose the glass style that best fits the room.
Partial-Overlay Shaker Styling
Partial-overlay construction leaves more of the solid hardwood face frame visible, giving each cabinet opening clear definition and adding a classic, furniture-inspired appearance.
This style works especially well in traditional, Craftsman, farmhouse, cottage, and transitional spaces.
No Center Stile on Double-Door Cabinets
All American Made Cabinets double-door cabinets are built without a center stile. When both doors are open, the cabinet provides one uninterrupted opening for easier access to wide items and everyday storage.
Why Choose Lite Gray Shaker Cabinets?
Lite Gray Shaker cabinets provide a softer alternative to bright white while remaining light and neutral. The finish adds gentle contrast and visual depth without making the room feel dark or visually heavy.
Lite Gray complements both warm and cool materials, including white quartz, marble-look surfaces, granite, butcher block, natural wood, tile, stainless steel appliances, matte black hardware, brushed nickel, brass, and bronze. It also adapts easily to future updates in countertops, flooring, lighting, backsplashes, and hardware.
The factory-applied Sherwin-Williams Lite Gray finish eliminates the need to create a painting workspace or add sanding, priming, painting, drying, and curing time to the project.
